Abstract

|
For the possible avoidance of nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity and the maintenance of the most suitable serum concentration of tobramycin, an aminoglycoside, blood concentrations of tobramycin were measured during the steady-state after intermittent intravenous administration with fluorescent polarization immunoassay.
Among eleven patients with normal renal function, peak serum concentration of tobramycin was 3.97mcg/ml, trough serum concentration was 0.3meg/ml.
The pharmacokinetic parameters during the steady-state after intermitten intravenous administraton of tobramycin were studied. The half-life was 2.01 hours in average and the volume of distribution averaged 0.40 liters/kg.
